PROPOSING A NEW WORKSHOP

The Company of Biologists is a not-for-profit organisation committed to the interdisciplinary exchange of information for the benefit of the biological community. The Company has launched a range of specialist workshops for 2010, and the Workshop Committee invites proposals for future topics for 2011.

Proposals are expected to focus on cutting edge scientific research in topic areas that are new, novel and not covered by traditional conferences. Proposals that focus on emerging or cross-disciplinary themes are particularly encouraged. Organisers should be experts in their field, with sufficient standing to attract world-class speakers and delegates. Proposals should indicate how the workshop will contribute to establishing new collaborations or research directions. Each workshop will consist of approximately thirty individuals and proposers should include information on ensuring diversity in the people attending.

A written proposal letter should be forwarded, along with a completed application form, to our Workshop Team. Proposals will be evaluated for scientific merit by the Workshop committee. Proposals should include details of potential chairs, speakers and participants along with an outline of the motivation for holding the workshop on this theme and the programme plan and anticipated outcome.
